KABUL - Municipality of Kabul will draft a new law in nine months with the help of previous ones that will fulfill all the requirements and will redress the existing problems.
Addressing a ceremony here, Minister for Urban Development Yousaf Pashtoon pointed to various problems like growing population, shortage of water and irrigation system, illegal distribution of land. He said all these problems were due to lacking of comprehensive laws.
He said: Our main problem is that our municipality has 30 to 40 years old law which can not fulfill our societys current needs. Eng. Mohammad Yasin, an official at the Kabul Municipality, told Pajhwok News Agency the revision of the law was a positive step in implementation of urban planning and resolving public problems.
