TASHKENT - A part of military airplanes of US Air Forces located at the air base in Khanabad (Uzbekistan) is repositioned to the neighboring Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan, our correspondent reports.
According to a source in the Defense ministry of Uzbekistan Pentagon’s activities are associated with recent prohibition of the Government of Uzbekistan againts night flights for US crafts from the air base in Khanabad.
It is known that war crafts HC 130 (tanker planes) are relocated to Bagram air base, Afghanistan, not far from Kabul, military planes C-17 to Manas base nearby Bishkek,Kyrgyzstan.
US embassy in Tashkent gives no comment that is not remarkable, at all, for relations between US and Uzbekistan undergo a complicated period.
US as other EU states call for international investigation of Andijan events. The Government of Uzbekistan in its turn says that fact-finding is an internal affair of Uzbekistan.
Now as Uzbekistan’s political scientists said Tashkent and Washington may face an issue of complete closure of Khanabad air base. Karshi-Khanabad base received American planes due to intergovernmental accord in connection with Antiterrorism operation initiated by US in Afghanistan after September occurrence.
